Brand Identity for Baby Reesa Foundation
The Baby Reesa Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization which provides both financial and emotional support to families of children suffering from Krabbe S Disease. Globoid Cell Leukodystrophy, commonly known as Krabbe (crab-ay) Disease, is a genetic disorder that affects the central and peripheral nervous systems. The foundation was started by Sean and Jamie Stutzman, who's daughter Reesa is fighting this heartbreaking disease.
When we began the project, we knew that it needed to be feminine, soothing and hopeful. The client wanted something that spoke to the sweetness of their daughter, while being welcoming to families with children of any gender.

The concept of the bow felt the most fitting for the message, but the challenge was trying to speak to both the genetic aspect of the disease and the welcoming nature of the foundation's identity. The initial concepts played with the heart as the knot of the bow, but it didn't fully convey what the disease actually was. Since the disease is genetic, it needed something more to bring it to life. The addition of the DNA helix look for the ribbons tied everything together for the mark.
